Welcome to the first installment of Creative Perception, the official news and event blog for Crystal Blue Sound Studios. My name is Kevin Joiner and I was around when CBSS was just starting out over 15 years ago. Since those early days, I’ve worked all over the United States as a performer, songwriter, producer, arranger, engineer, and all-around creative. Having returned to Central Florida this past February, I was pleased to see the studio – and owner Nick Pages – not only surviving, but thriving in a dynamic music scene that is only growing more dynamic by the day. So, when Nick asked me to author this blog, I was honored to again have the opportunity to work with a cherished friend, respected colleague, and admired member of the music community. 

            To coincide with the launching of our new studio website, we’ve got a wealth of informative media that we’ll be debuting throughout the next few weeks and beyond. For instance, we offer this weekly blog, which will keep you up-to-date on all that’s going on with the CBSS network of artists and industry professionals, both in the studio and out on the scene. You’ll get to hear more from these talented folks – like Shane Meade, Melissa Brethauer, and Bishop Wayne – with “Studio Life”, a video podcast I’m producing with interviewer Bruce Wawrzyniak of Now Hear This promotions. And no matter what your function or expertise in the studio environment, you’ll want to check out our tech blog; it’ll be chock full of tips and techniques to make your recording experience as comfortable, efficient, and rewarding as possible.
